CAFE STYLO
カフェスティロ
Tokyo, Japan
Mar 2015 - May 2015
This rooftop restaurant, situated at the top of Itoya's flagship store is where customers regain sustenance during a long day of shopping in the luxurious shopping district of Ginza.
As a cross-cultural bridge between Japan and California, I bridged the gap between California's Pacific coast aesthetic design and seasonal foods in a way that could culturally blend into Tokyo's culture.

MYU planning
The process
My role in the project consisted of an intense exploration of cultural, furniture, and material research, furniture scheme model making, and presenting these design proposals with watercolor renderings and scaled models to Itoya's CEO and MYU planning.
Watercolor renderings
-
Produced 2 perspective watercolor renderings based off of various ideas the client had to convey the overall mood.
-
Produced 2 sectional perspective renderings with AutoCAD, Illustrator, and Photoshop so individuals can understand the relationship between the highest 3 floors, with the cafe at the highest floor.
Interior photographs
-
By July, Itoya's new building and Cafe Stylo was opened to public visitors.
-
The opening was featured on the news, and enabled Ginza and foreign visitors to visit with a view by the window, dine at the tables, and drink from the bar.
